VAST

Video Ad Serving Template: the XML format that tells a player which video to play and which events to fire.

VAST carries media files, tracking URLs, click-through and optional companion ads. Versions 2 through 4.x are in use at once; an ad server has to speak all of them and serve what the player asked for.
